Nik Pence 1924-1949,

is an installation and first installment of an ongoing project that involves collecting and archiving early twentieth century art work produced by professors and participants of the esteemed Bauhaus schools in Weimar and Dessau, Germany as well as the later Chicago school. I have sourced and purchased various artworks from this period via online auctions from private owners from a multitude of locations throughout Europe, Asia and the United States. Each piece has a written or verbal provenance that cannot be professionally validated, thus legally deeming the items attributed works. Until and unless authentication is provided by the artists` estates or other undeniable evidence is found, the artworks live an uncertain existence, divorced from the artists’ oeuvres.
